Anneli Furmark is one of Sweden’s most acclaimed comic creators. She debuted in 2002 and has since produced numerous comic albums. Her latest work, “Walk Me to the Corner,” tells the story of Elise, who is well over 50 and lives a stable and orderly life, until the day she meets Dagmar at an exhibition opening. It is a graphic novel about unexpected love at a time in life when tranquillity should prevail.
Anna Härmälä’s honest and funny, partly autobiographical comic strips quickly became an international internet phenomenon. In her book “Single Mothering,” we meet Mia, a newly dumped and newly delivered mother. As she tries to get over the breakup, she is confronted by a world full of nuclear families, changing friendships, exhaustion, and hopeless attempts to date online.
