Digital accessibility is about making a website easy to access and navigate. This accessibility statement also describes known accessibility issues and how you can report shortcomings to us so that we can rectify them. Digital accessibility requirements apply to the Nordic Culture Point website from 23 September 2020.
Accessibility requirements
We are aware of shortcomings in accessibility in relation to our website. The website complies in part with the EU Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
Non-compliant content
- The Nordic Culture Point website contains a few publications (.pdf format files) that do not fully comply with the requirements. Appendices that do not comply with the requirements consist in part of documents created before 23 September 2018. Consequently, these do not need to be adapted retroactively in order to comply with digital accessibility requirements. All documents of crucial importance in the application process for a Nordic funding programme have been made accessible.
- The website contains limited amounts of older video material that lacks subtitles. These videos were produced before 23 September 2018 and, under the directive, do not need to be adapted retroactively.
- We also believe that providing audio descriptions of the videos in the form of separate audio files would give rise to a disproportionate burden for the organisation as this is a resource-intensive task given the size of the organisation and the insignificance of video material in the application process for the funding programmes, for example.
- The project page https://bokslukaren.org and its downloadable material have been adapted for accessibility, except for the Icelandic, Northern Sami, Faeroese, and Greenlandic PDF files. Currently available software does not allow accessibility-adapted exports in these languages.
