Norden 0-30 is a funding programme for young people in the Nordic Region up to the age of 30, with a creative project idea that needs funding. Projects that can be funded should cover culture, social issues, and/or politics.

""

Norden 0-30 supports Nordic projects focused on children and young people up to the age of 30. These projects can be related to culture, society, or politics. You can apply for funding up to 50 000 EUR.

The program is run by the Nordic Committee for Children and Young People, which is part of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The target group of the programme is children and young people up to the age of 30.

Application periods
Aktiv

02.09. – 02.10.2026 15:59 (UTC +3)

What can be funded?

You can apply for support for projects or networks that involve cultural, political, or social activities where children and young people are actively involved.

They should have a say in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the project. Project partners should encourage democratic participation and help children and young people gain more influence. Granted projects can begin 8 weeks after the application deadline.

Examples of eligible projects:

  • Networking: This could include meetings, conferences, workshops, camps, courses, or other activities designed to strengthen partnerships, exchange experiences, and share resources.
  • Production: This includes creating materials like campaigns, reports, artwork, or digital stories to help children and young people better understand their right to participate and influence decisions.

What cannot be funded?

  • Organisations or networks that do not work with or have experience involving children and young people
  • Individual applicants
  • sports organisations
  • Projects aimed at making a financial profit
  • Routine operations, such as purchasing equipment or furniture, or paying salaries unrelated to the project
  • Activities that have already been completed (projects must start at least 8 weeks after the application deadline)

Who can apply?

Grants are available to:

  • Organisations, municipalities, institutions, associations, and networks. You need a registration number / organisation number to apply.

Norden 0-30 supports projects with partners from two or three Nordic countries.

  • For projects with two countries, one of them must be Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, or Åland Islands.
  • For projects with three countries, at least three Nordic countries must participate. This includes Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the Åland Islands.

The applicant must live in one of the Nordic countries listed above. They do not have to be young, but they must represent a group that includes or has experience working with children and young people.

Cooperation with Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Åland Islands, and the North Calotte (Finnmark, Nordland, Troms in Norway; Norrbotten in Sweden; Lappi region in Finland) is encouraged. Additionally, cooperation with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania can also be included.

How much funding can you apply for?

  • Projects with at least three Nordic countries: Up to 50 000 EUR
  • Projects with two Nordic countries: Up to 10 000 EUR

You must also secure at least 15% of the project funding from other sources, which can include in-kind contributions (non-monetary support such as voluntary work, goods or services).

The total funding from Norden 0-30 and similar institutions cannot exceed 85% of the total project costs. Other sources of Nordic funding include the Nordic Culture Fund and NordPlus.

“In-kind financing” means the provision of goods or services instead of money, which counts towards project financing. For instance, voluntary work can be included in the budget. The calculations should be specified in the application budget, and the total must be considered reasonable for the completion of the project.

The budget must be completed with our mandatory template.

Mandatory budget template

How is the application assessed?

The following are considered mandatory:

Involvement of children and young people

The project must actively involve children and young people at several stages, from planning to evaluation. The evaluation will look at how well the target group is engaged and how the project is received by them.

Nordic collaboration

The project should promote strong Nordic cooperation and create long-lasting relationships between young people in the Nordic countries. It’s an advantage if the project fosters new partnerships and has a positive impact on their role in Nordic culture, politics, or society

Contribution to Vision 2030

The project should contribute to the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Vision 2030, aiming for the Nordic region to become the most sustainable and integrated region in the world. This can be achieved through various aspects of the project, such as its format, content, gender composition, or the choice of methods.

The following are seen as advantages:

Inclusion and representation

The project should focus on including vulnerable or underrepresented children and young people, such as minorities, refugees, those with disabilities, or those lacking access to education or culture.

Please note that the application deadline is 15:59, Finnish time.
