Sara Lundberg (born 1971) is educated at Konstfack and the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. She has won the August Prize – Sweden’s most prestigious prize for literature in Swedish – twice, most recently in 2017 for the book Fågeln i mig flyger vart den vill (The Bird in Me Flies). Her CV also includes collaborations with authors such as Sara Stridsberg and Ulf Stark. In 2025, she was awarded the Nordic Council Children’s and Young People’s Literature Prize for the picture book Ingen utom jag (No One But Me). From the jury’s citation:
“Lundberg takes readers – and their reading companions – on a dizzying journey through seriousness, play, and imagination. It’s a coming-of-age experience for the picture book audience, where shared reading moments offer opportunities for discovery. Readers can search for meaning in the details – or simply let themselves be swept away by colour and form. In a book where the text is minimal, the images are expansive. With watercolour and crayon, Lundberg fills the book with both time and space.“
Philip Teir (born 1980) is an author and former culture editor at Hufvudstadsbladet. In 2024, he was awarded the Svenska Yle Literature Prize for his novel Eftermiddag i augusti (“An afternoon in August”, not translated into English). Teir is also the programme director of Helsinki Lit.
