The Nordic Council Film Prize 2019 went to the Danish film Queen of Hearts. A senior defence lawyer fighting for women’s rights suddenly finds themselves on the other side of the table, making irrevocable and fatal choices when their family and career are at stake. Director: May el-Toukhy.

Nordic Council Film Prize

The Nordic Council Film Prize was awarded for the first time on a trial basis in 2002 in connection with the 50th anniversary of the Nordic Council. It became permanent in 2005 and has since been awarded together with the Nordic Council’s other prizes for music, literature, and the environment.
