Culture and Art Programme opens with an updated application form

The first application round of Culture and Art Programme in 2020 has opened with an updated application form. The criteria and objectives of the programme remain unchanged, but the recent update aims for a more user-friendly application process.

The essential programme criteria still consist of the nordic dimension, the artistic quality and the cooperation dimension of the project. Relevant questions for the quality assessment are how the project will develop the fields of art and culture , how innovative the project content is the and whether the results of the work will persist after the project period. The applicant’s ability to complete the project in a good manner will also be assessed.

The assessment is also affected by the horizontal perspectives within all Nordic cooperation, children and young people, gender equality and sustainable development. Another assessment tool is the Nordic Council of Ministers’ document Strategy for Nordic Cultural Co-operation 2013–2020, which focuses on equality, interculture, digitalisation, creativity, sustainability and the child and youth perspective. There is no special funding reserved for these themes and the programme is also open for themes beyond these.

The call for applications is open between 5 February and 5 March 2020. Please note that the deadline for all grant programmes are at 03.59 P.M. Finnish time.
