A think tank that engages Nordic and Baltic artists and presenters to collectively nurture and disseminate ideas of the intersection of art, community and place in contemporary circus. To inspire and capacity-build wide circles of operators and stakeholders, also reaching out to decisionmakers and authorities. We catalyze new thinking, collaborations and projects, enticing the circus sector to explore issues of civic participation and cultural rights within the evolving landscapes of our region.

We will develop a network of Arctic organizations to strengthen international collaboration and capacity. We will undertake a groundbreaking research mapping the Arctic arts and culture landscapes of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and the United States that will identify shared opportunities, gaps, differences and similarities across borders, with a particular emphasis on Indigenous and national minority communities, to further support long-term sustainability in the north.

The Hot Type Network preserves typecasting machines and their operational knowledge. Linotype, Intertype and Monotype machines revolutionised printing and played a crucial role in global literacy, news distribution and free speech. The network trains a younger generation of operators and maintainers, ensuring these skills are not lost. Through collaboration and public engagement, we aim to raise awareness of print heritage and secure the future of these historically significant machines.

Culture Action Europe’s (CAE) Nordic-Baltic School of Advocacy Network strengthens advocacy capacity in the Nordic and Baltic cultural sector by connecting cultural organisations, practitioners, and artists across borders. The network localises European cultural advocacy, builds skills for democratic engagement, and supports socially resilient cultural ecosystems through structured learning, peer exchange, and collaborative advocacy initiatives.
