Social sustainability
- Nordic Culture Point provides residencies for a diverse range of participants from various artistic fields and all Nordic regions.
- We help residency participants establish connections with local cultural practitioners. During the residency, we also organise a networking event with art and culture professionals working on Suomenlinna.
- We strive to make the residency socially, physically, and digitally accessible and inclusive, and work to adapt spaces to make them suitable when it comes to work processes and events.
- All our public events are alcohol-free.
- Residency participants can bring family members or other close companions, although pets aren’t allowed.
Ecological sustainability
- We encourage artistic development and productions that minimise waste during and after the residency.
- Residency participants are required to sort their waste both in the residency apartment and in the provided workspaces.
- When investing in equipment for the residency, we consider the lifecycle of products, ensuring that they are durable, recyclable, and sustainably produced. We borrow, rent, or reuse equipment whenever possible.
- Residency participants are encouraged to use public transport within the Helsinki metropolitan area during their stay. Residency B28 also comes with a bike.
- All public events offer vegetarian refreshments.
Economic sustainability
- Participants of the residency programme receive EUR 700 per week. This funding can be used to cover costs that the residency participants incur during their stay.
- All residency events are free for the public to attend.
- We endeavour to ensure that people can participate in our residency activities on equal financial terms, so we offer travel funding for applicants from peripheral areas in the Nordics with limited connections to Helsinki.
