Library
The Nordic Culture Point library at Kajsaniemigatan 9 in Helsinki is the only specialist Nordic library in Finland. We have fiction, non-fiction, children’s literature, and magazines in all the Nordic languages. Here you can read Nordic newspapers, sit down and work, or flick through the children’s books in our cosy book grotto together with your little ones.

Events and group activities

The library regularly hosts literary events such as book circles, discussions, language cafés, and author events. You can read more about them on our page Events (opens in a new window).
For teachers
We organise programmes for daycare and school groups in Helsinki and throughout Finland. You can find more information on the page For teachers (opens in a new window).
The Nordic bookworm
The Nordic bookworm produces educational support material for picture books from all the Nordic countries, free of charge, and in all the Nordic languages. The material can be used freely as a discussion opener for conversations about books with children at school, in the library, and on the sofa at home.

You can even experience the Nordic bookworm as a digital reading session, where Annika Sandelin reads poems from her book ‘Råttan Bettan och masken Baudelaire’. The session will take approximately 8 minutes, and the text will be read in both Swedish (opens in a new window) and Finnish (opens in a new window).
