Pandemic Mindmap – Finnish release, with Live-music

In connection with the release of the Finnish translation of Karstein Volle’s “Pandemic Mindmap”, we’re throwing a RELEASE PARTY with a book signing, interview, and live music from the author’s own band Karstein Volle & The Telomeres.

ONLY 20 SEATS IN THE VENUE – The event will also be streamed live on this page

“Pandemic Mindmap” by Karstein Volle, the creator of the Norwegian/Finnish comic book series, is an impromptu coronavirus diary from the first lockdown in the spring of 2020. The collection is both a walk through Volle’s life as a middle-aged man, and also contains several longer reflections on his youth.  The book was illustrated and written within strict, self-imposed limits. No sketches, no plans, just ‘pandemic’ thoughts:

What’s it like to explain to your children that they cannot meet other children, and how does it feel when the home carer visits single elderly neighbours in full personal protective equipment? These days our thoughts turn to what we’ve experienced in life. Friends who have died, career choices, parents who have passed away, missing those we have lost and, last but not least, the perpetual threat of infection which lurks around every corner.

The author is interviewed by Vesa Kataisto. We will also hear the long-awaited live music from Karstein Volle & The Telomeres, as well as a little taste of the author’s upcoming series: Tranby Rock City!
