Public funding for culture is being reduced, and private foundations cannot be expected to carry full responsibility for financing the arts and culture. At the same time, many agree that culture is a fundamental structure in society. Could the solution for cultural financing lie in the funding models of the startup world?

Welcome to a conversation about money and power. At the heart of the discussion is the question: Is it possible to create conditions for culture to grow, without compromising artistic freedom, quality and ideals?

Speakers:

  • Pelle Amberntsson, research analyst, Kulturanalys Norden
  • Erik Båsk, Managing director, Kordelins stiftelse
  • Filip Hiltmann, Head of marketing, Way Out West
  • Matilda von Weissenberg, Managing director, & Espoo theater
  • Moderator: Hilla Körkko, journalist, Uusi juttu

The discussion is organised by Hanaholmen and Nordic Culture Point, in connection with ODDfest’s Creative Week. The discussion is held in Swedish. Attendance is free of charge and open to everyone.
