Nordic Literature Circle

An open book

Welcome to the Nordic Literature Circle! We read new Nordic fiction and discuss the works together at the Nordic Culture Point library at Kajsaniemigatan 9.

The only thing you need to do in order to take part in the literature circle is read the novel in question. No prior registration required. We speak Swedish/Scandinavian. The circle is led by our specialist librarian Kira Nalin.

We will meet on Wednesday, 11:th of May, between 17:30 and 19:00. We’ll be discussing the novel Stöld by Sámi author Ann-Heléne Laestadius. Stöld is a novel about a reality that is rarely portrayed. The novel takes place up in the north where tensions between the Sámi people and the rest of the population have been toxifying generations. The book was published in Sweden and won the Book of the Year price in 2021. The Finnish translation will be published in the spring of 2022.
