Tonight’s guests are:
MAG is a solo project by Magdalena Ågren. She uses trombone, megaphone, voice, homemade electronics, loops, and a drum machine all at once to build her music from scratch. From the tiniest simple element, it grows into a mammoth dystopian lo-fi orchestra. Sometimes restrained and suggestive, sometimes chaotic and wild. Mag’s music is an act of resistance to perfection and control in society. It’s music that’s written out of frustration and sadness, straight from the heart. It strives for deep introspection and expressive power, seeking both confrontation and commonality, without any concern for codes of conduct.
House of Auer is a ground-breaking, ever-evolving, and reductive drag collective founded in the suburbs of Vantaa, Finland. It draws its inspiration from memes, laundromats, and the former first female president of Finland, Tarja Halonen. The collective produces its own Happy Auer club, and has performed on stages the length and breadth of Finland, most notably at Drag Me To HEL events and the Flow Festival. Audiences will be able to enjoy a showcase of the best bits from the collective’s career, including stirring interpretations and larking about in typical camp style.
