How are fathers depicted in picture books? In the run-up to Father’s Day, we’re discussing how the role of the father is conveyed in picture books and how it’s changed over the years.

Participants will be Sofia Torell, niece of Gunilla Bergström, who is the mother of the Alfons Åberg books, and author Per Bloch and illustrator Cato Thau-Jensen, who created the Halvfar picture book. Interviewing them will be Mia Österlund, Associate Professor in Comparative Literature at Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland.
