Additional funding allocation for residency activities to support Ukrainian cultural creators

The Ministers for Nordic Co-operation have decided to allocate additional funding for artist residencies to support Ukraine’s cultural scene. The war in Ukraine has meant that increasing numbers of Ukrainian artists and cultural creators need a residency placement outside of the country’s borders.

Nordic Culture Point will administer the allocation of additional funding for artist residencies in the Nordic and Baltic countries with the aim of inviting Ukrainian artists and cultural creators to stay. The purpose of this extra investment is to enable more Ukrainians to have a safe and secure place to pursue their creations.

“It’s great that Nordic Culture Point has the opportunity to support Ukrainian artists and cultural creators to enable them to continue with their artistic work and to continue networking despite the perilous situation brought about by the Russian invasion of Ukraine,” says the director of Nordic Culture Point, Ola Kellgren.

The additional funding can be applied for by Nordic and Baltic residency centres. More information about the allocation and the application process will be published in August.
