Language Quiz: How Good Are Your Nordic Language Skills? (in Swedish)
Thursday 22 October, 1.00–1.30 pm, Busholmen
Put your Nordic language skills to the test in our language quiz. If things get tricky, a selection of Nordic picture books will be available to help jog your memory. Everyone who takes part will receive a small prize.
The Best Nordic Story of 2026 for Young Readers (in Swedish)
Saturday 24 October, 3.00–3.30 pm, Busholmen
The winner of the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize will appear at the Book Fair and read from their award-winning book. Hear the story in the author’s own voice and gain insight into the ideas and background behind the work. The audience will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

Solvej Balle, Jon Fosse, Väinö Linna, Sofi Oksanen, Ulf Stark and Linda Bondestam are among the renowned authors who have been awarded the Nordic Council Literature Prize over the years. Come and meet the authors behind this year’s award-winning books!

The same in Scandinavian? (in Swedish)
Sunday 25 October, 2.00–2.30 pm, Fiskehamnen
Ideas of Nordic trust and a shared Nordic identity are often linked to knowledge of the Scandinavian languages. Does reading a text in its original language create added value, or does the Nordic community benefit just as much from experiencing literature in translation?
