How to get here

Here you can find more information on how to get to Suomenlinna B28.

""

Ferry to Suomenlinna

The journey to Suomenlinna is by HSL ferry from Kauppatori in Helsinki. The Suomenlinna ferry is part of Helsinki’s public transport network and operates year-round between every 20 minutes to one hour, depending on the season and time of day. The journey takes 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the weather. You can find current departure times and schedules at www.hsl.fi/en (the link opens in a new window).

From May to the end of September, you can also take a water bus to Suomenlinna. The water bus costs a little more than the regular ferry but makes a stop at Lonna, a tourist island where you can book a sauna. You can purchase water bus tickets on the FRS website. The water bus stops at two locations on Suomenlinna: at Kuninkaanportti and Tykistölahti. It is a shorter walk to B28 from Tykistölahti than from the HSL ferry terminal.

You can find more information here (the link opens in a new window).

On foot in Suomenlinna

When you disembark from the HSL ferry in Suomenlinna, it takes between 15 and 20 minutes to walk to Residency B28. Walk through the arched walkway of the coastal barracks, past the church, up to the crossroads, and turn right down the hill. Walk past the museum, over the bridge to Susisaari, up to the right through the arched passageway of the wall, past Ehrensvärd’s grave, and take a right at the next turn. To the left is the long, light-red stone building which is B28. The main entrance is through the arched gate in the middle of the building. Residency B28 is on the left-hand side of the building.

If you take the water bus and disembark at Tykistölahti, it’s a 10-minute walk to Residency B28.
