The Wedding (FULLY BOOKED)

""

What roles do festive attire and fashion play in our society? On 14th September, Nordic Culture Point’s venue at Suomenlinna B28 opens its doors for a conceptual fashion show in the form of a wedding, offering a unique opportunity to ponder these questions.

This event is fully booked.

The piece The Wedding has emerged as a collaboration between designers Sini Saavala, Ellen Rajala, and Matilda Mannström. Their shared interest lies in sustainable fashion and norm-breaking festive attire. With The Wedding, they aim to spark a discussion on customs and practices through their work, while also challenging prevailing ideals and expectations surrounding weddings and concepts of beauty.

Theremin artist Susanna Viljanmaa will provide the music for the event, and Autuas Ukkonen will deliver the opening speech.

Doors open at 2:00 PM, with the ceremony beginning at 3:00 PM. The celebration will continue at Linna Bar.

The number of seats is limited.

The event is a collaboration between Fashion Community Helsinki, Nordic Culture Point, and Helsinki Design Week. The Finnish Cultural Foundation (SKR) and the Swedish Cultural Foundation have supported the artists’ work.
