Petra Laiti is the new funding advisor for the Norden 0-30 and Volt funding programmes. Laiti joins us from a position as political assistant to Finland’s Minister of the Interior, Maria Ohisalo. She is known to many also as a podcaster, writer, and advocate for Sami rights.

For Petra, who has lived in three different Nordic countries and always had a Nordic language environment at home, Nordic co-operation feels both comfortable and familiar. In her new role, she is looking forward to sharing her knowledge on Nordic minorities and helping young indigenous representatives to access Nordic funding opportunities.

“I’ve long been involved in organisations for young indigenous people and know what it’s like to believe in a good idea but find it difficult to put that idea into words in order to submit an application. I can now share what I’ve learnt, and also to a wider audience,” says Petra.
