Nordic Culture Point launches residency activities at Suomenlinna B28

""

From 2025, Nordic Culture Point will be offering residencies for artists and creative practitioners through its new programme, Residency B28, in Suomenlinna, Helsinki. Residency B28 welcomes creators from any artistic field and will offer residency visits four times a year.

With Residency B28, Nordic Culture Point is seeking to promote artistic activity and encourage Nordic co-operation. Artists and cultural practitioners play a vital role in society and provide insight locally and internationally. They need an environment to work in that not only helps them focus, but that also gives them the opportunity to engage in dialogue with others. That’s why we’re offering residencies that combine solitude with an inspiring work environment. In addition to the accommodation and work space, a residency allowance is included.

Residency B28 is open to applicants from any artistic field, including artists, curators musicians, writers, cultural producers, researchers, and artisans living in the Nordic Region. Residency places will be available each winter, spring, summer, and autumn, and will last between one and six weeks.

During the residency, Nordic Culture Point will arrange a networking event where guests will have the opportunity to meet local artists and cultural practitioners. Residents are expected to talk openly about their work and present their processes, such as by way of a discussion and work demonstration.

The application window for Residency B28 will be open from 20 November to 20 December 2024. The application round covers stays of one to six weeks during the period 1 March 2025 to 31 August 2026. Applications will be assessed internally at Nordic Culture Point based on their feasibility, artistic content, and Nordic reach. Residency places will be awarded by the director of Nordic Culture Point.
