Panel discussions at the Helsinki Book Fair on 29th October
Våldets många ansikten (The Many Faces of Violence), 14:30 – 15:00, Blåbärslandet
In this panel, authors nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize will discuss the aftermath of abuse and murder, as well as the anger and necessity of being heard. All three works explore the many faces of violence, with historical, literary and real-life references to trauma and breakdown.

When does life really begin? What does it mean to be strong and vulnerable at the same time? In this panel, authors nominated for the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize discuss existential questions in literature and what it means to look at yourself in the mirror.

Life is a collection of fleeting, everyday situations and moments of upheaval which seem significant only later. This is also the case in Nordic children’s books. In this panel, authors and illustrators nominated for the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize discuss the transformative magic of everyday life.
