During her Artist Talk, Rakel Andrésdóttir will present her upcoming residency work focused on hand-drawn animation, stop-motion experiments, and the development of a children’s animated short film. She will discuss her plan to create animations both in nature and in the studio, using puppets made from found materials, as well as her collaboration with Finnish animator Kaisa Penttilä.
She will also share how she incorporates children’s perspectives into her storytelling—particularly ideas about life after death—through workshops and script development. Her talk will highlight her interest in blending playful approaches with serious themes, and in exploring animation techniques that connect across landscapes, cultures, and languages.
Free admission. You can also follow the talk online on this page.
Warmly welcome!
