Architect and musician Tuomas Toivonen will travel to Lithuania to perform at Nida Art Colony (Nida, May 30) and Stasys Museum (Panevėžys, May 31). His site-specific sound performances explore the relationship between music, architecture, and nature, fostering cultural and ecological awareness.

Together with Danish performance maker Anika Barkan I have been invited by Fonds INITIUM to participate in a residency with legendary Lativan artist Katrina Neiburga, from April 8th-11th 2025 in the workspace of Katrina Neiburga in Mikeltornis in Latvia. We will develop the project Beyond Beyond.

To attend the second part of the DocForward workshop arranged by Nordisk Panorama with the documentary filmproject "Noctalgia". The workshop is in Oslo, Norway in May.

‘I am Amalie’ is an artistic research project rooted in feminist writer Amalie Skram (1846, Norway - 1905, Denmark) and her novels, life and encounter with psychiatry, through the history of women, life and mind until today. The project will be part of a larger body of work: "Women's Life Mind".

I have been invited to contribute to the Public Program of the Trastad Artist Residency (TAR) with a public lecture and a day long seminar. My intervention will focus on how we engage with more than human in the approaches of inclusive architecture and urbanism practices.

I am invited as a participating artist in MOMENTUM 13. "Between/Worlds: Resonant Ecologies" is the title of the 13th Momentum Biennial in Moss, which will have its primary focus on sound and the sound worlds that surround us and resonate with art. The Biennial will be open from 14.06 – 12.10 2025

I the fall 2025 I will present the exhibition "Man, Earth and the Museum" at the artist run space K4 in Oslo. The project is a multimedia installation (film and sculpture) that questions mineral extraction, museum nostalgia, the power of aesthetic and function of display.

This project brings together two artists, one in choreography and the other in acting/writing. Using Aline Combe’s 'Euphoria' methodology, we will interview local inhabitants to explore their relationship with truth, incorporating their perspectives into a research-based artistic process.

Through the Arctic Circle Residency, I aim to embody the Arctic landscape by slow traveling its seas while critically examining how colonial narratives, particularly the "white explorer" mentality, have shaped Arctic history in Europe and Denmark, fostering dialogue with other participants.

The purpose of my trip to Riga is to participate in the 15th Survival Kit contemporary art festival scheduled for Sept. 2024 to do an installation and VR work. I will produce new 360 videos and 3D scans of mushrooms, stones in Pokaini forest, researching Latvian mythology and folklore traditions.

I, visual artist, Kirstine Aarkrog (Danish) has been invited to present a solo exhibition at Galleri Nef in Stockholm, Sweden. The exhibition consists of seven new works under the common title ‘The Parades’. Duration of the exhibition: 6 – 16 June, 2024.

I conduct an in-person interview with Bernd Ogrodnik in order to enhance my research in The Changing Landscape of Puppetry to better understand his approach to puppetry art. I’m invited to make a four week solo exhibition at the LOU art space in Helsinki, in November 2024, by curator Remi Vesala. On the theme of dying and grieving I will make a process based and participatory exhibition, which means that I’ll be there activating the space during the exhibition period.

I am participating in the inaugural Sapmi Trienniale that opens in Bodo, Norway in August. The selection was made by a jury of art professionals; Anders Sunna, Gerd Matre and Joar Nango, Maria Lind (Director Kin Museum of Contemporary Art, Kiruna) and Ulla Viitanen, (curator, Rovaniemi Art Museum).

I’m participating in the exhibition Call of the void at Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia (EKKM) in April and will travel to Tallinn to install my work and join the opening.

I am invited to Oslo, NOFOD conference, together with my colleague dance researcher Ieva Ginkeviciute to lead a workshop – “Unlearning Dance.” The conference will take place on April 23-26, 2024, at Kristiania University College, focusing on uniting diverse forms of dance research and practice.

To participate as an exhibitor in the installation and vernissage of the exhibition In under through up and then out at Galleri Salhus at the Textile Industry Museum in Salhus, Bergen, Norway, opening on June 1, 2024. The exhibition is curated by Anna T Wolger, and shows five nordic textile artists.

The grant is intended to support my visit to realize an important phase of my curatorial research done together with contributing collaborators and institution in Tallinn and Tartu. The work will be part of the exhibition “Down in the Bog – Thinking with Peatlands: Sporulation” at EKKM in Tallinn.

I will travel to take part and lead an international choral masterclass in Finland, Lahti. The aim is to prepare the repertoire for the joint choral concert on 4th of May in Helsinki, and to participate in networking between conductors, musicians from Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark and Poland.

The applied grant is for participation in the NOFOD conference in Oslo from 23 to 26 April 2024.
The grant covers travel (Helsinki-Oslo-Helsinki), board and lodging.

I’ve been accepted to Baltic Analog Lab’s Film School, which takes place every week online and as three in-person workshops in Riga and Rotterdam from January to June 2024. These workshops will offer training in filming on a bolex camera, hand-processing and editing 16mm analog experimental film.

To partake in the group exhibition Down in the Bog – Thinking with Peatlands: Sporulation. The exhibition is curated by Karolin Tampere by invitation from Estonian Contemporary Art Museum. It will be on show at EKKM in Tallinn from June 14th until late August 2024.

For travelling to, and staying in Liepaja, Latvia, in order to play a solo concert with the SOUND-DISK-MACHINE at the international sound art festival “SOUND DAYS”.

C:NTACT has initiated a research and development project in 2024 with the aim to create a new artistic department for artistic citizenship in Denmark. The purpose is therefore for key personnel from C:NTACT to explore artistic and professional exchange to broaden our artistic knowledge and methods.

Two years ago I started filming musician Amina Hocine’s process developing, building and playing her own pneumatic mechanical organ. I’m therefore applying for funding to go to Stockholm 9.-13. of May 2024, and film musician Amina Hocine’s graduation koncert at KHM/ Kungliga Musikhögskolan.

I am applying for a grant to attend the NOFOD conference to give a presentation with my working group. At the conference, we will be giving a lecture presentation with the following title: Dancer´s embodied Class Background.

I’ll install the work textile work “N9dro ntjwlo 7da jbola (We could travel the Mountains)”, write a text and do a lecture performance. Exhibition runs from 20 September – 11 October 2024. Symposia will be held September 20, 2024. Will take place at Museum of Impossible Forms, Helsinki, Finland.

The purpose of my travel is to install and to partake in the exhibition “Function Follows Form” that will be curated by Paulius Petraitis in Vilnius at Prosepektas Gallery in Oct and/or Nov of 2024.

The purpose of the travel is to lead and develop the choreographic research Rasp at Bergen Kunsthall’s residency program Live Studio. The research group will explore the relationship between dances and their immediate surroundings in dialogue with curator Nora-Swantje Almes.

The purpose of my travel is to present the performance DO AS I SAY, the 6th-7th of November as part of NAKS Festival 2024 in Tartu, Estonia, a prestigious international theatre festival for young audiences. DO AS I SAY is an interactive dance performance for teenagers about bullying and authority.

The mobility grant will be used to cover travel expenses to present the work ‘Landmarks’, an interdisciplinary art installation by Bianca Hisse, in the main exhibition space of Forum Box in Helsinki, Finland. The premiére is on 22nd of August 2024 and stays open for the public until 15 September.

To explore and learn about surface printing firsthand at Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik. The purpose of travel is to investigate the potential of a new project in the field of printmaking, as specialist craftsmanship informed by Swedish cultural heritage.

Participation in biennial performing arts for children and youth Bibu 2024 in Helsingborg, Sweden. Bibu is one of the biggest theater festivals for kids and youth in all Nordic-Baltic countries. There will be opportunity to see best performances from all over the world, attend seminars, lectures.
