Approved funding

We are applying for funding to offer an artist residency for visual artists from Ukraine at BEAST on the island of Bornholm. The residency offers time and space for artistic immersion in unique natural surroundings. With a focus on photography and visual arts, BEAST provides a peaceful environment for research, creation, and reflection, supported by an active local art community.

‘WITH CARE’ is a residency program for Ukrainian artists at MARC focused on performance. It features Ukrainian artist and curator Pavlo Kerestey, curator and dramaturg Valeriia Buradzhyieva, and five artists selected for their prior work engaging with communities, space, and place. Their practices span performances, workshops, documentary filmmaking, immersive live choreographic installations, and visual art with a strong connection to performance.

VARES is an international architecture residency focused on sustainable and inventive spatial practices that expand the sphere of imagination related to everyday spaces and propose an alternative to the current wasteful practices. Over 2 years, we will host 4 Ukrainian architects, offering them time and space to explore personally important topics alongside international peers. The residency also fosters sharing of knowledge, experiences and practices in a supportive, collaborative environment.

This project enables Artists at Risk (AR) to host four 2-3-month residencies of Ukrainian art professionals and their dependents at the AR-Finland Network in 2026–27. Artists applying to AR's Ukraine Public Call are selected according to highest risk (occupied/heavily attacked regions), with priority given to applicants with children and those affected by war-related trauma. AR provides a safe environment for rest and respite, networking, and the continuation of their artistic practice.

The Ukrainian Solidarity Residencies Programme (USRP) is a network of Finnish arts organizations that offer Visual Artists, Musicians, and Arts Professionals funded residencies in Finland. Each artist is placed within an organization from the Ukraine Solidarity network that can best support their practice. As well as residencies, career building events and Artist Talks and exhibitions are organized to facilitate artists’ inclusion in the Finnish arts scene and develop artists support networks.

Trainspotting Art Residency invites 4 Ukrainian artists to Švenčionėliai, a town shaped by its train station infrastructure and creative community Forest Harbour, activating local spaces with artistic interventions, workshops, and collective rituals of leisure. Through community participation and site-specific activities, the residency reimagines recreation as a shared culture of healing, everyday renewal, and positive emotions rooted in both local traditions and contemporary needs.
