I've been invited to facilitate the “Close-up of Artistic Practice” workshop laboratory, organized by the Choreographers Association in Riga, Latvia. The purpose of the laboratory is to encourage the exchange of Latvian and Finnish dance artists.

The participation to an exhibition and installation of my art works in a project platform Spacious Copenhagen. I addition to the previous, I give an artist talk in a public event.

I'm traveling to create a performance event and workshop with Dwayne White Jr, in collaboration with Cecilia Lagerström’s research "The sugar games". The research aims to create a new perspective on the colonial history of the city of Gothenburg based on the sugar industry’s activity there during.

Visiting Piksel Festival in Bergen, November 21.–23.2024 presenting Ohanda One -project. Piksel Festival has been a pivotal forum for the project over the past 10 years and new milestone is now achieved and the team is invited to present the current stage of the project.

My video installation ”Waters as Portals”, is planned for exhibition from 24th May – 31th August 2025 at the at Kunsthal Rønnebæksholm in Denmark. I will be working there week before the opening and the installation set up, and document it one day after the opening.

Residency at Dansverkstæðið, creative duo Linder&Semler works on the performance "EGO" that premiers in Sweden may 2025. During the visit the duo gives workshops + work in progress-showing. Excerpt of "EGO" + workshops performed at the childrens culture festival at Nordic house.

Lin Ni has been selected from a competitive pool of over 150 applicants to participate in a group exhibition with three other participating artists. Additionally, Lin Ni has been invited to design and lead an educational workshop with primary school aged students from Seyðisfjörður, Iceland.

Filming an analogue 8mm video work in the Deatnu River Valley and its surroundings together with Petra Laiti. The work consists of film material, text and sound and its themes explore the agency of the landscape.

I am travelling to Norway to hold a solo exhibition called "Amazing Show With Horses" in Bærum Kunsthall.

We will perform with Lithuanian saxophonist Kestutis Vaiginis and the Polish rhythm section at the What a Jazz Summer Camp in Lithuania in August 2024. In this project we will combine the musical traditions of both countries, jazz aesthetics, improvisation and dance.

The Social Choreography Lab Helsinki will present a workshop-performance at KRAE’s Degrowth Festival in Copenhagen in September 2024 and network with local artists. The trip is part of the Nordic-wide project “Choreographing the Social-Exploring Nordic Collective Imaginations” initiated in 2023.

The purpose of my trip to Riga is to participate in the 15th Survival Kit contemporary art festival scheduled for Sept. 2024 to do an installation and VR work. I will produce new 360 videos and 3D scans of mushrooms, stones in Pokaini forest, researching Latvian mythology and folklore traditions.

Motuz Group aims to foster collaboration through interdisciplinary performances across
Nordic and Baltic countries. Engaging with local artists in each country, we transcend
borders and strengthen artistic bonds. Dedicated time in Finland will nurture our group’s
growth and project development.

Taking part in the international guest programme of the Norwegian contemporary music festival Ultima in Oslo, both as a composer and as representative of the Finnish Uusinta Ensemble: attending concerts, networking events and discussing the possibility of future commissions and collaborations.

I conduct an in-person interview with Bernd Ogrodnik in order to enhance my research in The Changing Landscape of Puppetry to better understand his approach to puppetry art. I also look forward to performing for and establishing a connection with the members of Ungverska Menningarfélagið á Íslandi.

Heidi Miikki is invited to Hringleikur circus company to hold workshops of vertical dance and to co-create a performance with the company in Reykjavík. Long-term collaboration and networking will continue with both countries. Heidi has also an exhibition of her circus-film work KOTI in Ísafjörđur.

My interactive media artwork “Augury”, is planned for exhibition between October 11 to November 10, 2024, at the Klaipeda Culture Communication Centre (KCCC) in Lithuania. I will bring the piece, set it up, and document it as a video for a few days while it is open to visitors.

The purpose of my travel to Riga is driven by my selection as an artist for the 15th
Survival Kit contemporary art festival scheduled for Autumn 2024. My goal is to search
socially significant themes, alternative survival scenarios, and to measure the city
through long-term bodily movement.

My purpose is to travel to Stockholm on 3.-5.6.2024 to attend the meeting of NORDEM, which is the inter-Nordic organization for Early Music. The reason why I want to attend is that I work as the executive producer of the BRQ Vantaa early music festival, which is a member of NORDEM.

The purpose of the trip is participation in a Nordic group exhibition of five Nordic textile artists in Galleri Salhus / Tekstilindustrimuseet in Salhus Norway June-August 2024, creating connections with Nordic textile artists and taking part in an artists’ meeting.

The applied grant is for participation in the NOFOD conference in Oslo from 23 to 26 April 2024.
The grant covers travel (Helsinki-Oslo-Helsinki), board and lodging.

For travelling to, and staying in Liepaja, Latvia, in order to play a solo concert with the SOUND-DISK-MACHINE at the international sound art festival “SOUND DAYS”.

Participating and giving a lecture demonstration in the NOFOD 2024 conference, organized by the Nordic Forum for Dance Research. It takes place in Oslo, April 23–26, 2024. The theme of this year’s conference is The Dancer and the Dance: practices, education, communities, traditions, and histories.

I am applying for a grant to attend the NOFOD conference to give a presentation with my working group. At the conference, we will be giving a lecture presentation with the following title: Dancer´s embodied Class Background.

A research field trip in the commencing “Spaces of Resilience” art project revolving around the sites and people of the traditional Icelandic turf houses and farms that still exist, investigated in light of regenerative practices.

Participation in NOFOD conference in Oslo. Together with a collegial team, I will present a lecture of our project as part of the program. I will also join other activities presented in the conference, aiming to deepen my artistic thinking as a dance artist and creating new collegial connections.
