Comparative in-situ research of the early coastal settlers in the Faroe Islands (as compared to the Curonian Spit in Lithuania) as a basis for a libretto of an original contemporary opera as well as networking and fostering artistic collaboration opportunities in the opera world between the regions.

The trip focuses on researching sustainable waste management solutions for public toilets for the UNESCO-listed Curonian Spit and other protected areas in Lithuania. Insights from the Helsinki-Huussi project will inform feasibility studies, pilot projects, and collaboration with local authorities.

Being Lithuanian Sauna tradition keeper I travel to teach Baltic Sauna tradition on how to work in Sauna, creating a Sauna ceremony, including Nature elements (plants, water, salt), and their use on human's body. This course is advanced, for those, who already took courses last Summer in Finland.

The aim of this trip is to establish cooperation with partners from the Nordic countries in the future by involving Lithuania in the participation of the Telakka Open Border festival. Also to discuss the development of joint new projects in the future.

I will go to Copenhagen/Denmark, to collaborate with Danish/Nordic colleagues – creating a new puppet performance for children and their families. The project is a mix between ’ordinary’ production and an experiment in visual Arts, between three visual Arts and Artists, where I am one of them.

Organising a conference “Art and creativity as the main tool of female leadership” at Malakta Art Factory, Finland during January 18th-27th

Participation in a group exhibition at Kosminen gallery, from 23-29 November 2020. The two other artists participating are Kasia Gorniak from Finland and Liina-Mai Püüa from Estonia.

The purpose is to participate in production and presentation of site-specific contemporary dance performance with the collaboration of artists, dance enthusiasts and locals, as well to convey of new knowledge and experience in contemporary dance and related arts by giving and taking masterclasses.

The conference of the festival >>when the light hits just right<< would provide an opportunity to represent our Lab / collective Sponge (Vilnius, Lithuania). Also i would be glad to attend all the rest of the festivals' events and gain new experience, knowledge, meet new people.

Visvaldas Morkevičius will be participating with new audiovisual installation in international group exhibition “Wunderkammer” organized by Riga Photography Biennial 2020 which will take place in Latvian Museum of Photography, Riga, Latvia.

Curator Paulius Petraitis will travel to Riga, Latvia to follow the installing of exhibition “On Photographic Beings” and participate in exhibition opening on 16th of April and discussion on 18th of April in Latvian National Museum of Art. The events are part of Riga Photography Biennial 2020.

Promoting the field of artistic research in music and strengthening professional and institutional collaboration by participating at the 4th festival-conference of music performance and artistic research “Doctors in Performance” at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.

The purpose of travel is participation in urban exploration event in Helsinki which is part of Cultural and Creative Spaces and Cities (CCSC) project, alongside a study visit to get acquainted and explore the activities run by two Nordic cultural centres – Kaapeli and Suvilahti.

Participation in the Riga Biennial of Contemporary Art this year with a new work commissioned by the Biennial. I will be working on installing a site-specific work in Riga and presenting it to the audience during the opening days.

The purpose of my visit to the Norwegian Festival of Literature is to establish a meaningful connection between the children and youth literature worlds of Lithuania and the Nordic Countries, which may result in the exchange of talents, promotion of works, and sharing of professional experience.

The purpose of the trip is to create artwork on the theme “Centenary of Denmark’s Reunion with Southern Jutland 1920”. The title of the sculptural composition is “The State Border”. The sculptural composition will be composed and will be exhibited in the public space of the city park.

Lina Lapelyte and Mantas Petraitis are developing the site specific installation for the RIBOCA2. Artists will travel to RIGA for the install period (1 – 10 May y. 2020) to build the installation together with local rafts-men organisation. The local rafts-men will be involved in performance set.

Artist collective from artist day care Autarkia will travel to Riga from Vilnius to present a group exhibition at gallery LOW from 5.6.2020-30.6.2020 and meet it’s new artistic team. The exhibition requires the artists to be present in the gallery during the preparation, installation and opening.

We are going to north part of Norway, firstly, to make a research and bring back gained experience from Somovarteateret, located in Kirkines. Secondly, we are going to attend annual IETM (International network for contemporary performing arts) Plenary Meeting taking place in Tromsø.

The purpose of the travel is to see, learn and experience – Subtopia with give me the insides of how this big creative cluster works, also, circus production. Circus cirkor would give me the insides of circus education. The plan is to spend each day in a different department of these organizations.

The project is devoted to developing and presenting a cross-disciplinary art-project, focusing on experiences and expressions of queer communities, by Anton Karyuk at “Kulturhuset Leoparden” in Uppsala, Sweden, on November 4–15, 2019.

I will work on Chapter Two for a project IN OUR TIME in collaboration with CRAS ensemble. The project is related to Doomsday Clock, a design that warns the public about how close we are to destroying our world with dangerous technologies of our own making, such as nuclear weapon and climate change.

The aim is to develop cooperation between the dance artists from the Baltic and Barents regions, to get to know each other’s creations, working methods, to carry out joint activities and present them to local communities. Meetings are scheduled in Hammerfest in 2020 and in Riga in 2021.

We will present personal artistic publications and selected titles from Lithuania at a book fair ‘Making Public and Publics: Art Publishing in Context’ at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design. We’ll also participate in accompanying symposium to broaden our artistic and curatorial networks.

We will meet all the playwrights, who participate in the project and we’ll focus on what we know/ don’t know about each other and discuss how we’re working in terms of writing for children and youth, and addressing our young audience. We want to deepen relations, explore and learn from each other.

I will participate in the concert production facilitated by NMK on 13th December 2019.
During the performance there will be presented newly composed music by young Norwegian composers.

The purpose is to learn the good practices and see shows that could be a part of SPOT festival (Vilnius, LT). Professional program will be a chance to meet colleagues from other festivals, network with them, build relationships that could be useful in the future and learn from their experience.

Nordic Culture Point’s Mobility Funding has allowed this Lithuanian contemporary opera-performance Sun & Sea to travel to Norway for its Nordic premiere. As a site specific project it engages the local architecture of Bergen and the local community where it is performed.

Spatial Opera Company: Jens Hedman and Aasa Nordgren from Sweden, and myself from Lithuania, are to work on Meditation Opera – an interactive, self-experienced opera genre, exploring electronic surround and live arias, with listener also expected to engage in instructions of meditation.

I’ll be attending the Operudagar Festival and the opening of the first symposium of Nordic independent opera/music theatre companies in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Working in Lithuanian Dance Information Center I found ICE HOT Nordic Dance Platform to be a great place to experience current Nordic dance scene, deepen relationships with companies, theaters, info centers, other experts and represent Lithuanian Dance Scene for diverse audience.

Presenting cross-disciplinary work PAPER PIECE at NUperformance festival in Tallinn (Estonia) during 20th-28th of October 2018

Going to Norway, Hammerfest (November 6-12, 2018) with the aim to meet participants of the Long-term Network funding project “Lifelong Dance Practice: Project 45+” and discover new ideas, opportunities, and identify ways how to continue developing the artistic qualities of dancer after age of 45.

I will present my research and work at the Tallinn Summer Academy of Art, giving a short course on image-making in relation to AI and visual recognition. This trip will also provide with a possibility to broaden my artistic and curatorial network, and familiarize with Tallinn art scene.

During my stay in Tallinn I would like to work on my solo exhibition at Tallinn City Gallery, work with the board members of the Foundation Tallinn Print Triennial and Tallinn Art Hall, and participate in the installation and transportation of the works.

My purpose of travel is to represent Lithuanian contemporary comics and graphic artists at the 2018 Helsinki Comics Festival, to be held 1st– 2nd September, 2018 in Helsinki, Finland.

My travel purpose is to take part in the conference, to meet high professional academics,practitioners, artists and Indigenous actors and participate in lectures, seminars, practical creative workshops.During the conference to exchange knowledge, experiences on participatory development through art.

The project is an exchange of Lithuanian and Finnish performance artists and organisers, a meeting between artists-organizers-curators collectives, which would allow them a moment for creative exchange in both countries.

I plan to travel to Rognes. There is the Spire Art centre and I am going to lead a make Land art whit stones near art centrum and to lead a workshop of kites. There will be practical activities that will present different methods of creation Land Art and Kite Art.

The purpose of participation in the NoMeMus festival, which aims at promoting professional performance of medieval music and performers from the Nordic and Baltic countries, is to present professional Lithuanian musicians, their mastership in performing medieval music in ars subtilior style.

To finish the mobile bike pavilion, that will host a series of events in Copenhagen during summer 2018 under the name Scissors. Furthermore the time of the travel will be spend on meeting with the participating artist to coordinate their different activities of the project space.

The main focus of the meeting would be to exchange experience with Per Kristian Nygård about working with large-scale installations. By researching the main topic, which resonate with our both creativity, we are going to think about opportunity to create common big-scale interactive installation.
