Travel from Riga, Latvia to Helsinki, Finland 26.3.2024. – 2.4.2024 to participate in international group exhibition “SIC”- space for contemporary art to install artworks in the exhibition space, create new collaborative work in the exhibition space and participate in the opening of the exhibition.

The purpose of the travel is to visit performance artist Madame Nielsen in Copenhagen and interview her. In my scholarly experience, I have never come across an artist who would be characterised by such fluidity in terms of identity and intermedial migration among disciplines/genres/media.

Traveling from Riga, Latvia to Helsinki, Finland 26.3.2024. – 2.4.2024 to exhibit new paintings at international group exhibition on expanded painting in SIC- space for contemporary art in Helsinki.

The purpose of the travel is to perform both as solo artist and musician in the dance performance “Vērpete” in the dance festival FLOCK in Falun and at Swedens biggest dance fair Dansmässan in Stockholm.

Presenting the work “Five Songs- Dwelling on Earth” at the venue such as e-lectron strengthens and expands the co- operation between Latvian Estonian performing arts scene. The lecture performance navigates the questions that are important in both Latvian and Estonian context.

Līga Spunde will exhibit her new installation, “You Brought Us Gifts?!”, at apiece gallery in Vilnius. This marks her first solo exhibition in Lithuania.

Participation in the project WITCH CODE, a continuous artistic research project and workshop
series that will conclude with performance by the end of 2023. Team will explore the “post-male
gaze” female, examining its origins and futures through workshops led by each participant.

The aim is to raise awareness of Baltic Dance artists and dance organizations, to develop networking and to communicate Baltic Dance as three Baltic countries’ joint platform. The network enables a stronger collective international presence of the Baltic Dance scene as we have created possibilities to ease artistic and organizational collaboration, a dissemination of information and to stimulate new joint creative initiatives between Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian dance communities.

The main intention of the project is to delve into the socio-cultural, historical, and geopolitical dimensions unfurled by Rail Baltica’s integration across the Baltic region. Gathering a network of artists and interdisciplinary researchers across Baltic and Nordic countries, the project embarks on an exploration of the inclusion of Baltic States in the European fabric, weaving the tapestry of the Eastern past with threads of present aspirations and Nordic European identity.

1) To challenge and expand traditional narratives and perceptions of witches by reinterpreting the witch archetype in contemporary contexts.
2) To examine the concept of Otherness, especially broader issues of identity and societal norms.
3) To explore the intersection of gender and power in the context of the witch archetype.
4) To foster critical dialogue about societal norms, empowerment, and the reclamation of narratives related to Otherness and gender.
5) To encourage artistic innovation.

The purpose of this travel is to participate in BIRCA Women residency in Denmark and to engage in a practice of collaboration, co-creation and sharing with a cohort of female performing artists, as well as to develop an artistic research project.

The purpose of my travel to Paide is to develop a collaboration with Paide Theatre, as well as with the Estonian artists in order to create a theatre performance based on the stories from Latvian and Estonian women.

The purpose is to participate in WITCH CODE, artistic research and workshop series with 11 other European female artists, united by their interest to explore the origins & futures of the post-male gaze female. The project is closely linked to main subjects of research in my own artistic practice.

The purpose of the trip is to tell visually striking, captivating stories about whale and human relationships in the form of multiple collaborative analog projection performances in different urban and rural environments of Iceland.

The project unites artist-run film labs and cultural institutions that work with expanded cinematic art practices providing a space for creation, education and circulation of analog film art in Nordic region and beyond.

The goal of CindyKate is to provide the small music venues in the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) with the opportunity to collaborate with one another, as well as to educate the venues on how to create more sustainable business models and implement sustainability and diversity practices in their daily work.

The core objective of CindyKate is to support the circulation of artists and to enable grass-roots organisations and micro-organisations, to be active at an international level.

Ieva Jakusa has been invited to Narva Residency in Estonia to collaborate on project examining cultural centers in Soviet architecture and their relevance today. The case study for this project will center on the former Soviet cinema, Red Star, delving into its legacy and impact on the community.

The travel will grant a possibility to develop the collaboration with BATS, specifically focusing on deepening the professional relation and how the origin of body and movement related artistic research can transform- open up into methodology of applied theatre tools and working strategies.

I am accepted in an exchange residency program from Latvia to residency to Trondheim, Norway. I am going to make a small solo exhibition in a residency premises at the end of residency. I’m interested in structures and recently I focused on the identity and structure of the place we are living.
