On 8 September, elections for the Norwegian Parliament, Stortinget, will be held. The following day, 9 September, Johan Strang will discuss the election results with selected experts.

Since the Centre Party left Jonas Gahr Støre’s coalition government, the Social Democratic Labour Party has surged in the opinion polls. The return of Jens Stoltenberg to Norwegian politics as finance minister is certainly bolstering the current situation. The question is: Is this enough to maintain the current political power? Or will power shift to the right, as Erna Solberg’s Conservative Party and Sylvi Listhaug’s Progress Party vie for the position as the largest party?

Speakers in the panel discussion:

  • Wegger Chr. Strømmen, Norway’s Ambassador to Finland
  • Åsa von Schoultz, Professor at the University of Helsinki
  • Topi Lappalainen, Editor-in-Chief at Arbetarbladet
  • Moderator: Johan Strang, Professor at the University of Helsinki

We offer a light breakfast. To reduce food waste, we kindly ask you to register your attendance in advance. Register for the election breakfast here by the 3rd of September (opens in new window).
